How to Prepare Your Motorcycle to Ride on the Racetrack

Clean your motorcycle. This allows you to double check all key areas to make sure nothing is loose (which will be relevant in step 10.) It also makes it easier to check the motorcycle at technical inspection (the day of the event.)

Remove your center stand. This is for safety on the track. Almost all organizations require center stand removal. This is especially true for the more advanced (and therefore faster) groups. Some organizations and tracks may ask you to also remove your Side stand (side stand.)

Remove or tape your mirror. Sometimes, distance is not an option because it may be the only way your panel is supported. In this case, tape up the mirror so that when it is in the ground, the glass from falling out onto the road.

Tape your headlights (s) and signals. This includes the tail light and plate light. If you can, remove the fuse for the headlights. With the lights off, it reduces the chance of holding on Tape ResidueYour headlights. Make sure the backup taken before the ride back on the road.

Check all of your controls, which means, clutch cable, throttle cable, brake lever, clutch lever, rear brake lever and kill switch for proper operation. If they fail tech, you need to get fixed by them before allowed on the track. Doing it before you get to the track, saves stress, if you have to do it while you're at the track. They are anticipating on the track and now you have to workon the bike. Very stressful.

If you check your brakes, make sure you have enough pads to make it through the event. Riding hard on the track will also help you lead your brakes make more extensive use. When you install new brake linings prior to the event, you try to sit in bed before the event.

Check your tires, both for tread wear and depth. Usually new or almost new tires are required in order to pass tech. Worn tires do not pass tech and you canmay also be able to notice an unusual pattern of wear on your tires to save some trouble early. An example of extraordinary wear and tear on your front side would soon tire with a profile in the middle. This would give to low tire pressure, smoothed with the tire (tread) with more than (turning declined), but retain their shape while driving straight up and down.

Check your tire pressure and check your rims for damage (see step above). They will probably adjust the tire pressureBefore you get onto the track, depending on several factors: your weight, the brand, the temperature and the roadway. Check with your owner's manual, the track days and organization of your local representative to meet for the best tire pressure on these conditions.

Clean and inspect the chain for proper slack and lubrication. You should not have a chain that is too loose or too tight. Check the manual for the proper slack. Also make sure that your chain is lubricated to preventbinding.

Make sure all your bodywork is properly supported and fastened. Do not have loose or flapping bodywork, it will fail tech inspection. Try not to have fur or other loose, flapping objects on your motorcycle. You will be asked to have those items removed before you can pass tech inspection and are allowed on the track.

Check your oil level. Try to change the oil if it has been a while to ensure that you have the best engine protection possible. The engine will be working particularly hard on the track and dirty oil makes the work more difficult.

Drain your radiator and replace to replace the glycol-based coolant with water and a coolant, such as water or weather-Engine Ice. Glycol-based coolants are not permitted on the track because they do not evaporate and leave the road (smooth as oil.)

Secure your wheel weights () glued onto the rim. It prevents them from flying off while you're at high speed.

Make sure you have good valve stems and valveCaps on the wheels.

If you point a hard saddle bags, remove the bag. The dampers can remain in the rule.

If you have additional lights, it's a good idea to remove them. When they are fork mounted, they have a negative impact and treatment if they are mounted, they can in the event of a bike was damaged. If you are starting the light, they stick. (If you have an on / off switch, turn them leave. If you are not removing or disabling them, the backup.)
